Originally from Charleston, SC, Chef Val's love of food was cultivated at a young age. He spent most days at the kitchen table, watching his parents create dishes that embodied their Filipino heritage. At age 14, Val entered the arena. He began as a dishwasher in professional kitchens and has since worked his way through the brigade, becoming unnerved in a multitude of areas within the culinary world.
From working and learning under the direction of Michelin star chefs and becoming an Executive Chef himself, to winning numerous awards and performing magic in the James Beard Kitchen, Chef Val has made a name for himself on both sides of the coast, and strives to share his gift with others.
With over 30 years of culinary experience, Chef Val's love and passion for food continues to grow. He happily puts on the chef coat knowing that there is a the potential of positively altering the course of someone's day by providing them with an exceptional experience and incredible food.
Chef Val Domingo was a rockstar when it came to ensuring we had a perfect night for our Bride-to-Be’s Bachelorette Party! Not only was the entire meal a 10/10, Chef Val went above and beyond with all of our extensive needs, always provided very timely communication, and provided outstanding customer service throughout our entire experience, from first point of contact to close out at the end of the event. We had an amazing surf n’ turf meal that was insanely yummy. I would really encourage anyone and everyone to give this experience a try – it is amazing for our current state of COVID vacationing and beyond. Hiring Chef Val was a great decision for our group while we stayed on Tybee Island for a private dinner party. He was super flexible and arrived at our agreed start time. He came prepared with all his tools and his mask (huge plus during these unknown covid times). His food was delicious and fresh. Our group was very satisfied and loved every course he prepared for us! Chef Val was also very personable and friendly. Chef Val Domingo and Gabby were hired as a surprise for my Mom’s 60th dinner. My family was visiting from New York for a celebratory week in Charleston.
